The CVI Action Plan is a community-led strategic framework designed to serve as a blueprint for reducing violence and saving lives in cities across the United States. Beginning in 2023, leaders from Community Justice, the Health Alliance for Violence Intervention, and the National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform held numerous in-person and virtual convenings with CVI leaders from across the country with the goal of creating a national, unified vision to advance the CVI movement. Prior to the Action Plan release in the fall of 2024, leaders from the Community-Based Public Safety Collective and Urban Peace Institute joined the coordinating committee to help shape the vision. The Action Plan Committee is dedicated to ensuring that all efforts to advance the plan are rooted in the lived experiences and expertise of frontline CVI practitioners.
